Add a co-sign
Medexa offers you the possibility of issuing a co-signature on your documents.
This option is available in the activities section of the "Health summary" and "Charting" pages.
Pre-conditions
You will have to perform several steps beforehand if you want to be able to add your signature to the document.
- Add a signature in your account: to do this, go to My account > Signature
- Add a practice profile: for this, go to My clinic > User management > Users > Choose a user
Realize the co-signature
To do this, simply select your document on which you want to add a signature (existing document or newly added and not already completed).
On this page you will have to click on "Complete".
A new page will then appear which will ask you to validate your identity.
Here are the steps to complete the co-signing:
- Here you will have to choose your existing practice profile or one that you have previously added.
- For the example below, we will use the user1 for the first signer
- Fill in your password
- Select the "Request a co-signatory's review" checkbox if you want to add a double signature to your document (this is not mandatory)
- Select the co-signer from the list (we will call user2 the co-signer for this example)
- Click on Send
- Once the document has been sent, your window will close and return to the list of activities. We will see the date of completion of the document
- If we re-open the document, we will see the new signature appear from user1
Now the co-signer user2 must connect to his account in order to issue a signature.
- After logging in, the user will see a new task to complete in their account
- Go to My account
- Click on My Tasks
- In the section My charting to complete, the new task will be visible in the list
- Go to Clients
- Select the customer
- Click on Health summary or Charting (depending on what you did before)
- Choose the activity to complete
- In the new page, we will see the activity signed by the user1
- In this new page, you will need:
- Select practice profile
- Put your password
- Add a note (appears only for the co-signer)
- Click on Complete
If we reopen the activity, we will see the two signatures and/or the two practice profiles.
Privacy
Access to activities depends on the privacy you have on:
- The patient file:
You can modify the confidentiality of the patient file by going to:
Clients > Choose a "Patient name" > Information > Assign professionals to this client
- The activity
You can change the privacy of the activity by going to:
Clients > Choose a "Patient name" > Health summary > Click on the "Privacy" button
- The episode of care
You can change the confidentiality of the care episode by going to:
Clients > Choose a "Patient name" > Charting> Click on the episode of care pencil
Example:
Let's assume if "user1" adds "user2" as a co-signer, but "user2" does not have access to the activity or the patient, he will not be able to co-sign.
